For those with hood locks.
For those with hood locks.
Did you get two installed or just one?
I was looking into getting hood locks on my Maxima as I am looking to have them installed on my dad's heavily modified Volvo 850 Turbo, which has recently had a second attempt at its theft. When talking to my sound shop, the highly recommended getting two of them simply because their experience has been that when you have one, installed in the middle of the hood, they simply take a pry bar and wrench up the corners. And that when you have two, it's nearly impossible to get in without making crap loads of noise, and taking a lot of time.
I'm definetly getting the hood locks (btw, they will be hooked up to the Alpine SEC-150R alarm so that I can have the hood locks open and close with the door locks, or use one of the accessory channels for the hood locks), I'm just trying to decide whether to go with one or two on both cars.

Re: For those with hood locks.
It might seem like this is the place to ask since you have a 4th gen. But consider asking in the 5th gen forum. I know a bunch of the mwere talking about getting it done at one point when many people had the HID's (2002+) stolen from their cars. They might have found good companies or good techniques for using them. I have not really seen many people in this forum ask it.
Just a thought.

wouldn't opening the hood with an aftermarket alarm installed trigger the alarm? Hmm, I should try that...
