1156 LED - corrections to blink slower?

I searched previous forums and found that some ppl have tried 1156 LEDs as turn signals but it flashed fast. However, is there something to do to still use LEDs as turn signals but to slow the flashing down?

thanks!

i'm an electrical idiot. you know how i would do that and where to get it and how much it'd cost?

It's also weird. the same 1156 LED bulb doesn't work on my front turn signal....

?? the manual says 1156 for front turn signals. 1157 is the clearance lights next to the headlights i believe.

uh, correct me if im wrong but that will not slow the speed of the flashing bulb, just make the flashing bulb dimmer no?

I doubt a resistor will do it

A resistor would only drop the voltage going to the bulb.

A flasher circuit like the one below can control an LED bulb.

Re: I doubt a resistor will do it

think we need a variable load flasher or load equalizer.

what kind of resistor would you need? and could these LED's be used with 1156, 1157, and 194's? I am asking because I have Polargs in right now and they still seem yellow compared to HID's.... will the LED's lessen this yellowish-ness?

white LEDs are very white, no yellowish at all. I'm guessing it'll be ok to use it with 1157 or non-blinking bulbs (like the 1156 for the maxima). but, u might wanna check on that. and, a lot of websites that sell LEDs say we need variable load flasher or load equalizer in addition to LEDs for blinkers.

what about adding a diode, capacitor, and resistor?
