my car has everything of a SE.Wheels,interior, guages what else of a GLE is different than a SE?

BTW its a 99'

One more thing.My car is making this sound like a bird chirp and it just stays it doesn come and go or anything.Its not the A/C becasue I turn the A/C off and its still there.Could it be a belt?

I have warranty btw.

If it's a 99 GLE I believe it should say GLE on the back. A GlE will also have chrome window trim and door handles where an SE has body color. There are other differences also such as the steering wheel.

 

Well I have bnlack window trim and everything but the vin checks comes back as GLE but then again they said the car was blue too.BTW its black

 

sounds like your car was 're-vinned'... where they put the VIN of a clean title wreck on to your car which was either stolen or salvaged...and rebuilt.

Or, the previous owner wanted his GLE to look like an SE.

BTW how are you checking the vin? Are you decoding it yourself or you using carfax or something?

 

My 98 maxima is a fully loaded SE(heated leather, climate control, bose, etc). It also has a GLE vin. I think it might be because it has all the GLE options, except wood grain.

 

When I was checking my VIN on some websites, it would simply say 1997 Nissan Maxima GLE/SE ....i think that the chromed grille and door handles are the best way to tell if its a gle or se

 

so did your check the rear window and see if it has a 3rd brake light?and all of the color match grill,door spoiler and the white face gauge,

 

sounds like your car is hotter than a summer day on the mohabi

 

see if u can check the vin's around the car... shouldn't there be some on the engine block and other places... see if they all match up...

My Maxima has VIN tags all over the place. Look for 2" white tags with Nissan logos and a grey insert containing the VIN.

These are used to determine if a body panel is original.

There is a plate on the firewall also.

 

that's right... i knew there were a few other places... i just couldn't remember where specifically... hope your car is ok...

but couldn't u get a GLE w/ an SE package... but it wasn't concidered an SE??? or maybe i'm talkin outta my butt here...
