Reverse Indiglows Help!! Got jerked by eBay!!
Reverse Indiglows Help!! Got jerked by eBay!!
I have a 99 SE maxima, and the stock gauge on the right has that pointy thing where the needle rests. But the new gauges I have does not have a hole where I can overlay it. So the only choice I'm looking at is I have to snap that thing off and use double sided tape. Will snapping that thing off have any consequences with the needle?

Note where the post hole should be on the new face. As long as there is no metal behind the area where the post should be, you can just drill a hole there in the new face.
When I installed mine, I just drilled holes for the OEM screws into the new faces. They work perfectly.
Another good thing to do if your afraid to drill and ruin the idiglo...why not remove the needle rest post and superglue it to the face? I doubt if it will ever come loose from the needle. Just a suggestion.
eaiser than all that would be to figure out where the needle needs to protrude through the new gauge face and use a hole puncher to make a nice, clean cut. Drill bits can snag and pull. Good luck. I had to do it to mine too. Like someone else said though, make sure there is no trace of copper on the back of the indiglo where you plan to punch the hole - there more than likely won't but make sure.
