Cattman RSB fittment issues
Cattman RSB fittment issues
I recently purchased the Cattman performance RSB and installed it tonight.
A little info first. My car is a 96 GLE with ABS & stock exhaust.
The issues I had were the side saddle brackets.
To get them to fit I had to remove the ABS sensor brackets and emerg brake bracket (no problem there)
The problem I had was the ABS sensor wire holders. Orig they are held with 2 10mm screws. I had to break off the foward most section of the bracket to loosen the wire and was only able to resecure it with the last bolt.
Also on the pasenger side the trailing arm bushing hits the exhaust pipe. I havent driven the car yet so I dont know if there will be any noises.......
Anyone else have this???

Whoa ... strange. We are talking about the Addco bar, correct?
If so, I didn't have any problems on my 95 and I installed one on a 99 and it was fine also.
And I remember only removing one 10 mm screw for the ABS wires on each side.
If you're worried about the wire hanging down, you could always zip-tie it.
I also don't remember any bushings brushing against the exhaust. But if it's not rubbing too much, I don't think it should be a problem. You're just get a scratched up bushing.

No I am talking about the Cattman Performance New RSB. They use different saddle brackets than the ADDCO. Much beefier
The ABS wire has a metal sheild that runs along the trailing arm that is secured with 2 bolts. One before the emerg brake cable bracket and one before.
I drove the car today with no noise from the exhaust as of yet. The car feels awesome with the bar as well......
Im going to try to give Brian a call

Wow, I didn't know Cattman was reselling the Progress rear sway bar-- I didn't even know it was on sale yet!
This part is EXTREMELY new, so not many may be able to help you at the moment...

Hey guys,
I just got the same Progress sway bar from Custommaxima.com and I'm having the same problem. The ABS sensor wire bracket is in the way.
Hmm..might have to take the bracket off and just zip tie the line to the emergency brake line...
Any other ideas out there??

Progress Sway Bar Installation
Alright..
Couldn't get the ABS bracket to fit under the saddle so I secured the ABS bracket using the rear bolt and then a zip tie for the front section. The front section of the ABS bracket rests on top of the saddle bracket and feels pretty secure.
The emergency brake bracket fit back into its hole in the center just fine.
We'll see how it rides tomorrow..

What I did to get the ABS bracket to fit was to bend the bracket in half and "snap" off half of it. Now half of the wire is in the metal bracket towards the rear of the car and the other half is exposed going around the saddle bracket.
This utalizes the rearmost bolt of the bracket but does away with the foward one......
Ive had it on for a week with only good results. No problems as of yet........
PS nice diagram!
