what gets to me about this whole thread is that Mecca was somewhat of a normal gear head and he knew his maxima just like any other shmoe on the .org so theoretically he should know that feasibility of a VQ-TT and that a VG-T from a 300ZX is not possible. so i have to ask the question, "is Mecca on some weird acid trip?" "did Mecca bump his head on anything recently?" and lasty "is this really Mecca?"

But hey, I'm sure Mecca is sorry for anything. I'm still worried about a lot of you on here though. Am I the only one that can live my daily life without taking it to the heart that Mecca would post this. It's only a thread... not the end of the world.
In the meantime, I think you can probably delete this thread Mecca. Once you've found a guinea pig, then keep it secret and don't mass produce through the .org... that way prices stay the same or even higher on the other set-ups. Let turbo or maybe even TT be exclusive among the VQ world. (because i'd like to be the only turbomax in my hood

This post is just a friendly reminder to the members wanting exotic setups being described on this post.
Except for a very select few gearheads on the org, from my experiences no one else has the knowledge to keep one of these twin turbos running as an every day ride and that includes myself! The cost and time involved running back and forth to different shops looking for qualified techs and parts would be prohibitive. I guess I'm trying to say don't get too excited , stick with proven mods and you will have reliability and fun. If these projects do come to fruition, that's all good and well but unless you have the technical knowledge and deep pockets run don't walk away!

i'll beleive this when i see it but if it happens and test are good and the horsepower is there then i will be impressed. but twin is just pointless, one big turbo is all we need. i just want a new engine too. well i guess we will see

lets try to stay on topic boys ... Mecca is trying to provide a TT engine for a maxima, so what if it can't be done, he's trying .. so quit your bi+chin and STFU!!!!
like someone else said it's only a thread and not the end of the world. If it does exist and it does work, anyone who was hating on mecca should not be able to purchase one.
Any updates?

I've looked into this in some detail. There isn't really any way you can squeeze a reasonable sized turbo into the tiny space between the manifold and all the "stuff" in the vicinity of the rear manifold. The plumbing itself is not that difficult, but the balancing of the turbos and just squeezing a decent sized turbo in there, will be a huge challenge. I have concluded that the gains you would end up getting from twins is not worth the effort. As has been mentioned multiple times before, why do so many twin setups end up going to a large single?
Good luck ... I don't think this is going to happen. I would be happy to eat my own words though!

So what is the verdict? Mecca (or whoever knows), what became of your (the) meeting with the now infamous shop? I got lost a few dozen disgruntled posts ago and I'm not going to go back and hunt. Everybody who hates this thread just keeps on posting in it.
If they think it's so stupid, they should unsubscribe and quit wasting my time by having me come check for stuff from Mecca when I get the email alerts. BTW, sorry if I did the same thing with this one.
P.S. Mecca, how did exams go?

Sure he can. Move the firewall back about 12" then he will have enough room for a T4 ![Smilie](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Finally after 188 posts I'm gonna throw mine in. Wouldnt there be enough rom for one turbo squeezed in where the Stillen SC goes and one were most of the kits are putting them? Piping would be hell, but just curious.....

the whole point is why??? with all that ridiculous amount of piping what are the odds it'll even make more power than a single turbo setup?? 2 small turbos don't always mean more power over one bigger....especially if the setup is badly planned!

There already is a TT 350Z built by Greddy. Twin 18G turbos. I saw it at SEMA last month, but a setup like that would never fit in a Maxima.
No idea the power it makes, but it has to be up there since those are pretty good size turbos.

I would not be surprised if Nissan were just waiting a couple of years to see what kind of sales they get on the Z before they put TT on it. Man if the last one had 300 hp, what could the 350 be makin? I completely have no idea, but it should get at least a hundred more, right? I mean, if in fact, there was ever a TT put in...by Nissan or whoever.

How about they make a 400ZX?
VK45DE4T = Infiniti Racing V8 with 4 turbos (1 turbo running off 2 exhaust manifold.
That beast should look like an elongated 350Z from their original 350Z concept designs. I'd buy one, if it came with AWD.

I haven't been to the org. in a while because of a tough semester at school. This is what I get to come back to? Stop wasting your time replying to this waste of a thread. Unstick it and let it die the death it deserved at page 3 or so. If Meccanoble can get some shizzle for his dizzle and provide something even remotely credible at all, he can post it in a new thread. Otherwise forget about this thread and its miserable existence (although it did provide some nice comic relief). There will be no more replies from me.
