mini Nissan emblam for 95/96 steering wheel...?

anyone have one of these? Im talking about an exact size mini NISSAN emblam(in chrome) that fits over the stock emblam on the 95/96 steering wheel. Just like how the 2k2's have it on their's.

if you have one please post links to where i can buy one.

thanks,

Ant

i remember bringing this up a long time ago.. and i also remember getting everyone saying that an add on emblem on the steering wheel may cause fatal if not more serious injury in an accident, (something about it flying off and poking out an eye.. lol)

If the emblem was a health hazard, the 2k2's wouldn't have them on. I was gonna go to the dealership tomorrow to see if i can get a carbon black Maxima and SE badge like they have on the new maximas. I know i'm not gonna buy it off of them because they're gonna probably cost 100+ but I have nothing else better to do tomorrow. I need to find a damn junkyard w/ recent model cars... all the ones i been to around here are cars that are 93 and under.

I have this mod on my steering wheel. Actually, it was the original grille emblem that was on front of the car after I had wrecked it about a year ago. It's totally secure on the steering wheel with a strong adhesive, double sided tape. I doubt if it would cause any injury if the airbag would happen to deploy. (hopefully).

I jacked an emblem off my gf's wrecked sentra. I think it's too big... if i can get a mini emblem, i'm going to definately tint it a darker color (smoke). The chrome is too bling bling for me and contrasts too much for my taste in my black interior.

I believe you can get the mini emblems from the first generation Altima's. It's the small emblem on the front grille. This may be the size you're looking for.

how do you figure the emblam can cause fatal or serious injury, considering the emblam itself is on the upper flap of the airbag, not on the seam where the airbag cover meets itself?? so if the airbag where to deploy, the emblam would just get flipped back, not thrown in your face!

and im not gonna wreck my interior and put a full size nissan emblam on my steering-wheel that was on my front grill

anyways, i guess ill just drive out to Brooklyn and pick one up then. Actually its 2 for $15

is the risk worth the look? i'd love to have one too..if u search i'm sure u'll see that i'm probably the first one to bring this up.. but until some one decides to make a steering wheel cover with the emblem fused in like the 2k2's have.. i'll pass also..

do you guys not read the threads when you post?? It's explained here why you don't have to worry about that risk. Just mount it securely and you'll have no problem. When the airbag deploys, the front part of the steering wheel flap gets thrown up and back.

Anthony if you find out what kind it is let me know, I want one too. It adds a little flavor to our incredibly bland steeringwheel, and I'm not falling for the safety issue since BMWs have 2" emblems on most of their wheels.

yeah its just a loud pop and then BAM! you cant hear, and your car smells like smoke for a week. I was sitting shotgun in my friend's malibu and he bottomed out. it was so quick that i didnt even see it, well, except the smoke coming out of his steering wheel and the dashboard.

and about the bondo comment--excuse me mr. ant, i am soooooo misinformed.

Cyrus,

i believe the Pathfinder uses a similar size on the rear tailgate right next to the wiper. Im gonna take a close look at one and measure it up to compare. Hopefully it will be what im looking for

Yea so where'd you get the emblem?

Ant, did you check the Pathfinder's like I mentioned the other day? I didn't get a chance.

I never realized how small it has to be to fit correctly.

Im pretty sure the ones on the 2k2's and BMWs and whatnot are secured a lot better than what a thin bead of glue would do. It shouldn't be a problem though unless you hit a wall at 60 going in reverse.

Wouldnt that shoot a piece of plastic at you at a very high rate of velocity if the air bags were to deploy.

I think it's ridiculous that ya'll think the emblem would be a safety hazard. It's not going to fly off and hit you in the face

well, their e-mail is down and they are not listed in the "411 info directory" in Brooklyn

So i guess if S600ergy can get the phone number we will be set!

Hey I don't know if this helps, but if you can find a newer sentra SEr, they have the exact emblem from the steering wheel in that pic, I think thats what your looking for. I don't think many will be at a junkyard but if you have access to one go for it.

I don't think it would be a hazard at all unless you don't attach it good enough even then i don't think it would. It would have to unglue itself and come of straight at you If it did that would the whole middle part of the steering wheel would hit in the face too.

You people are ridiculous. let's street race at fast speeds cause thats safe but not put a mini nissan emblem on are steering wheel cause that'll kill you."you'll shoot your eye out"(christmas story)

P.S. not that i don't street race once and a while
