rubber stuff on my window

I have some black stuff that has the consistency of melted rubber on my right rear window. It's stuck on there pretty good and I don't want to use a razor to get it off cuz I'll scratch the window. Any ideas on how to remove it? maybe some kind of solvent will get it off? please help!

Razor won't sratch the window if you use it right. Might want to try goo gone. Stuff worked well form removing stickers and such.

Try a heat gun or a hair dryer and then use a plastic ice scraper. You could use a fresh razor blade on glass to avoid scratching it. A used razor blade will present more danger to scratching on glass. Try some acetone for a solvent, that stuff eats through most polymer based plastics so be careful you don't get it on anything else. Acetone is also highly volitile (means it evaporates fast) so use in a well ventilated area, and it is highly flammable too.
