I decided to go the cheap route (for now) and I did the home made intake for $23.
All I bought was the APC intimidator cone filter and followed the instructions here with a few alterations.
It's worth the $23 for the sound alone!
I seem to have lost a bit of low end, but it seems to rev quicker at high RPMs. I'll probably make it an hybrid using the home made midpipe.

Check out the new BOMZ intake. It's the same style as injen.
It should be out soon if not already and you can get it for $90
if you hurry (normally $129 I think). Do a search and you'll
find the thread.

Thanks, I'll definantly look into that. Sounds like a good deal. Do you think I'll feel any differance in the acceleration from a stand still?

personally, I really like the Weapon R. If you like the sound, I've ran next to some others, and was told mine was one of the loudest they have heard. I do feel a little more push at the line, but I also have a Stillen Y-pipe... just my opinion

remember to try the hybrid out first so you don't drill the whole and find yourself goin back. I went to cold first then to hybrid and find myself using hybrid most of the time. I still do switch back to the cold during summer though so its not a waste of money in any way.

That's actually exactly what I was planning on doing. Installing a CAI in the cold winter rain isn't all that much fun.

Judging from the picture they provide of the CAI, it seems its not the same style as injen.. more like cattman/pr, so it would require drilling if thats the case. correct me if I'm wrong.
