95 Maxima GV immobiliser problems

I have a 1995 Maxima GV which will not start. Ignition is on, all accessories are working, but ignition will not allow the car to start, as in there is nothing. All things point to a faulty immobiliser. Is ther any way I can reset this, without heading to my Nissan dealer to be gouged!!!
Help an Aussie maxima owner.

Thanks for the prompt reply. This problem of not starting is intermittent. I can get in today, and once in 20 times the car will start, which means that the mechanical side to it is all fine. Would a faulty starter solenoid act in this way?

Yes, it can. It did with me.

Thanks again. I will check it out this morning. I am just concerned that if I take it to the local Nissan dealer he will go to town with all kinds of charges. The Maxima is seen as a luxury car in Australia, and dealers cahrge accordingly. Thanks again I may be back to you again.

No immobilizers in 95s, they started in 99.

Thanks for your input. The more I hear the more likely it is the starter solenoid.
Maxima's delivered to Australia were advertised as being fitted with an immobiliser in the literature of the time. In fact it says: "A centrally controlled anti-theft security system", so you could be correct. The '98 literature actually states "immobiliser".
All the best.
