When I had my '97 Max I noticed something very odd. If you tapped the driver side window switch all the way to the auto down position , rapidly, serveral times in a row ...the doors would unlock!

I mentioned this to the Nissan service department, the manager responded with a "Really?" He tried it on a new (at the time) '98 Max on the showroom floor....and it did it too!

The only thing that we could come up with was that it might be a safety feature...in case you were desperately trying to get out of the car for some reason? I personally don't think that is the case...I think it is just a glytch.

All of you out there try this and see if your Max does it too. BTW it didn't matter if I had the key on or not on my '97.

I made this experiment with my '99 GXE and had the same result. The doors unlocked.

That's really strange... my 97 GXE does that too. Oh well, at least it's normal.

I read your post and had to try it (it's boring @ 3 AM!).

No such luck on my 96. The window just kept spazzing as I pressed it down over and over again. I even tried it with the car running.

Try it with the car off, thats what I did. Get in, lock all the doors, and just hit the auto down switch all the way down like 5-6 times.
