Is my clutch bad? Please read

Im pretty sure my clutch is on its way or almost gone. I just bought the car 2weeks ago and has 55k on it so im guessing the original clutch. the clutch feels weird compared to my friends when i press it down. it does not feel smooth and is harder to push, but yet catches kind of low. i have noticed that when clutch is cold it pulls much harder and can churp 2nd when it gets warm(after like 3 times of going through gears) it feels like it does not pull nearly as hard. so i decided to stop the car put it in 2nd at like 3500 and dump the clutch my car sat there for a couple of seconds and slowly moved with the tach sitting at 3000 the whole time. my ? is was the clutch being hard to push down and not smooth an indication of it going bad also what clutch should i get?

That wasn't so smart. You probably burnt it up good with that move. If you could chirp 2nd, your clutch is fine.

Try replacing the fluid in your clutch hydraulics. That fluid absorbs moisture which gives a mushy feel. New hydraulic fluid (dot 3 brake fluid) may give you a better feel to your pedal.

Drive in 5th gear around 40 MPH and floor the car. If your engine revs up fast, your clutch is slipping. (Which it very well might do after your 2nd gear dump)

Don't dump your clutch in 2nd gear or you sure will be in need of a new clutch very soon.

yeh i didnt think it was good for the clutch but a local mechanic said that if i did this the car should just stall out and that would mean my clutch was good. thats the last i listen to people who work on old kia's all day.

Although I should try that 5th gear thing, just to see how much life I have left on my clutch...99k miles, almost 100k!
