8000K HID lights and cops --- what do you guys think??
I am thinking about getting the 8000k lights from Freddie, but im just not sure what to do. I want the 8000k because of the color it puts out over the 7000k but I dont want to be getting pulled over by cops all the time. Any one have any bad experiences with cops and HID's?? Tell me what you guys think. Thanks.

you have to sacrifice something...
if you like the color so much more, you will have to understand you can be an EASY target for police..
I've seen the 8000ks in person and holy ****, you WILL be noticed.. and from far, far, FAR away.. they are pure blue..
I can't understand the hype about that, but I guess whatever floats your boat. I rather stick with a 6000k or a 6500k and have a slight hint of color in them or pure white if possible.. which will still give you a very nice look and make you stand out.. yet they will be just as functional, if not better in the rain plus draw less police attention... If they were just some 30$ bulbs, I'd give it s risk and run them until I got a ticket, then just take them out and eat the 30$.. but this is a 400$ set we're talking here, so you'll be probably putting them up for sale or keep paying the tickets.. and you'll be loosing $$$...
but that depends on your area and if the police are really into ticketing people for illegal stuff on their cars..
then again
this is a lot worse than just illegal tint or even washer nozzle lights...

I got 8000k and never been pulled over. When I was driving I saw a BMW w/ stock HID and those things were bright from far away. I didnt think mine looked much brighter then that. I think that as long as u reaim your headlights then you will be fine.

Well this is going to be a tough decision. I really want the 8000k because thats the color that I am truly looking for. I guess I need to check out pictures of the 7000k kit also... is there that much of a difference?? Thanks!

I bought my after market HID, and its an 8000k. The only thing is my 8000k is a violet(pinkish) color. I installed it in my Mercedes ML for about 6 months now and I havent been hassled yet. My SUV has 5% tint all the way around, sitting on 22's, and I have a loud system, and never got hassled yet. But, if you put 20's, legal tint, a system, and violet HID on your Max then you will probably get pulled over, or hassled. Here in Utah(you-taahh) the popos profile heavily on you, and your car. They'll get you for every little thing they could.

Your car is CLEAN!!! Good job taking off those Altezzas, stock tails look way better. If money is not object, look into Philips Ultinon Kits. They give off a real slight violet hue but white enough to remain legal and see the road
For me, I am not a big fan of 8000k, 12000k lights, I only like philips 4200k or the Ultinon 6000k.

look i have had problem with cops not for H.I.D but for blue lights and im still getting the 8000k kit cuz its very simple you get a ticket that sux so you take the ticket to court if you have a buddy with a car shop or at least know one then you go to them ask them for a reciept that says you took off the lights show it to the judge and the judge will go "CASE DIMISSED" and guess what you still have 8000k h.i.d's
