I had to replace my water pump at about 165,000 miles. I lowered my car and changed the shocks and suspension after 30,000 miles, even though i didnt need them. I still haven't replaced the exhaust system, A/C system nor the drive chain. Nissan said you never should have to replace the drive chain. I run my 95 very hard and race from time to time with 173,000 miles. I also had to replace my CV boots, battery and an internal part of my alternator.

Alternator Dies at 40k
= Replacement alternator from dealer
45k Lowered the car
= Sprint Springs/ Koni Shocks
60k tuneup service
= New Belts, fuel filter, hoses, etc.
Car would stall and die at 63k
= Replaced Camshaft Position Sensor.
Car has bad gas mileage and lacks power that it used to at 80k
= Needs New Knock Sensor and possibly some o2 sensors as well.
Other things wrong with my car at 80k
- Suspension noises from the passenger front. Hollow thud sound, possibly a blown wheel bearing.
- Warped and scored rotors.
- Wood Dash from dealer starting to warp.
Overall I think i've had the most problems with sensors not lasting. I think it's documented that Nissan is notorious for this.

my water pump had to be replaced at 53500 miles, alternator at 53800 and i totalled the car with 54000 ...........but the water pump in the maxima is completely isolated from the motor - its very hard to reach, when they took out the faulty pump, that thing looked like it was brand new
