Darn Thieves! Replacing trunk lock mechanism...

Unfortunately some meatheads decided to try and pry my trunk open (after the idiots smashed my drivers side window, they didnt notice that there was a trunk lock on the door) to get to my audio gear.

Anyway, the lock is gone, and id like to try and replace it myself. Have any of you succesfully done it? Any tips?

Sort of ...

They basically tried, and were successful in prying out the actual key lock. I'm not sure where the lock is now, Its possibly they pushed it into the trunk, although there isnt any clattering when opening and shutting the trunk. The damage is a missing key-lock as well as paint scratches around the area where they were prying. Surprisingly, there is no bent sheet metal.
