Vlsd?

What is this VLSD that people keep talking about in the I30's. Its in the 5-speeds. If I do a 5-speed conversion would this be better.???????

It's a limited slip differential. It transfers power from the wheel that is spinning to the wheel with traction. It helps a little on launches but mostly in accelerating through turns. You ever see a car do a one wheel peal out? That is not having VSLD.
From what I know the I30's VSLD is not the greatest, but it is better than nothing. Just doing a 5-speed swap from an I30 will not get you VSLD.
Oh, and it also came on some Maximas in Canada.

Read this http://www.howstuffworks.com/differential.htm

you need to get the diff from an I30t.
has to be the touring model.
but i heard quaiffe is much better. I'm also looking into getting the phantom grip. it is a cheaper alternative to other LSD's. I'm not sure how good it is though, so i'm trying to convince a friend of mine to give it a try first. =)

It does not have to be the touring model. Ask Fst96se.

Really? other I30's have the LSD? I know some canadian maxs have the LSD, but I thought as far as I30's, only the t's had them? If so, my bad.

Just one that I know of. The more I read I think that all 5-speed I30's have LSD

I think only SE and ES models come with VLSD.
