Thats a really good deal..
my uncle has a 97 also and hes got almost 90k on it, no problems
except regular maintenance, oil changed every 3k miles, and you are good for 200k

Problems: alternator recall
thats all i can think of??

run a carfax check or call lemonbusters to check out the car.

I agree with everyone else. I own a 97 GLE with 112k miles on it and it runs great. Like everyone else says, check for signs of an accident and take a test drive. If you see an ECU code, make sure you check out the procedures for retrieving the code and pull it off the ECU. Some codes aren't that bad, like 0707 - Rear heated O2 sensor, my car had this and I reset the ECU and it never came back, or other malfunctioning sensor codes, but others can indicate something worse.

sounds like a real good deal as long as the car checks out alright. check it out and run a carfax and grab it if all good

that's a great price if the car is in good shape, no rips or anything. I paid a little more than what u did for my maxima and it was fully loaded like a GLE and had like a good 1,000 dollars in mods. However, i literally have twice the mileage of this car and tha'ts what's most important when trying to resale it. If the car hasn't been in an accident, and it has everything u want, i would go for it...don't have to worry too much about trans since its auto, even if someone bad drove the car, it can't be worst than someone killing a 5 speed trans...
