Need help with digi clim. control in 97 se

When using the "Econ" mode to heat the car...the "footwell" vent is always selected by default...is it possible to switch it to another position like the console vents at all?

BTW car is 97se with the digi controls

i thought all econ did was not allow the AC to turn on? it shouldnt affect heating. is it on manual control before you touch econ? if it was, then i bet it will do the same thing when you hit auto, because hot air rises and the quickest way to heat the car is from the bottom.

as I understood the heating thingy on the car..."auto" is optimal for summer since it uses the a/c as needed...in this season all I do is press "econ" select my desired temp and try not to roast my feet..your point on the hot air rising makes sense...I have tried manually selecting the desired vent then going to econ but it only stays as I like it for a few seconds if at all before moving over to the footwell position....oh well....thanks for the double help

It will always start at the footwell...BUT, you can change where
the heat goes using the "mode" button (I think it's mode)...The
temperature setting stays, and fan speed will still be automatic.

If you change the fan speed, then it will stay on that speed unless
you change it...

As for "AUTO", this is for the AIRCOND to turn on...every so often (like, once a month) you should turn to "AUTO" to keep the AIRCOND
lubricated.

Hope this helps...
