I have not noticed in loss in low end power. Actually I have noticed it being much harder to keep traction in first.

i don't know who you heard that from because i've seen threads with dynos that show an increase throughout the whole power band.

Definitely not a loss of low end power with a y-pipe.
Not very noticable gains though until 3500-4000rpms.

i def feel the loss of the low end and the significant gain of the high end. I'm gonna go on the lines of the loss of back pressure which is created from the stock pipe would have to do with that. The velocity of the incoming air probably isnt as strong with the free exhaust of the y pipe.

loss is not noticable compared to the gains you get on top end

i saw some graphs of dynos....definetly well worth the $$$

Get it. Any loss in low end is quickly dismissed once you get above 4,000rpm. Also, if your state has vehicle inspections, for 96 and up they will only hook up your computer to see if it pulls codes, no sniffing. The Y-pipe is by far the best buy as far as mods and you should have no worries about emissions.

I noticed a little loss in low end. Actually, loss is too harsh of a term to describe it. Once you feel the gains after 3k RPMs, you won't even remember how the low end was before you added the pipe. I strongly recommend you get a ypipe. Go budget, no sound, all gain and its only $158!!! I have to admit its the best $158.xx I have ever spent.

The proof is in the curves (hp/tq). Goto www.motorvate.ca & drill down under the y-pipe info to get your questions answered.

I've never heard of that before with inspections. Why then does everyone make such a big deal about passing inspection with their y-pipe?

the aftermarket y-pipes remove the 2 pre-cats that are found in the stock one...take a look at your stock y pipe, then look at the straight thru design of aftermarket ones, with NO cats....

There is NO LOSS OF LOW END WITH A Y-PIPE. This has been proven time and time again in dyno comparisons. People who think there is a loss are misinformed.

Sorry to barge in and change the subject, but knowing the y-pipe removes the 2 pre-cats, is there anyone from Jersey that got this done, and passed inspection (through the state)? I just installed a Stillen, but inspection isnt due till next year. I know how hard Jersey's inspection is, Im sure some of you can agree who lives here. My mother just went, and she said the first thing they did was look under the hood and under the car. If someone knows of a place that can pass me (hint hint), please PM me...maybe this will help some of us when that dreaded day comes

If the person doing the inspection specifically knows that the Maxima has 2 pre-cats on the y-pipe, then your in deep ****...other than that, then you'll be ok...Just make sure your car is in full operating temperature before you go there....atleast drive around for 20-30 minutes before going

Had my emissions test last week. Was not worried about my Y-pipe because I knew they would only look for codes from my ECU. For some reason they could not read my coumputer so they did the old exhaust test. Still passed with flying colors.

OT

I actually had my car inspected a couple of days ago. If it is 96 and newer all they do is read codes, in fact my Y-pipe was fine, but they did say that my headlights didn't pass. So while I was there I popped the old ones back in (I had them with me, and didn't even lock them in) after they put the sticker on, I pulled it into one of their parking spaces and put the Cuzo's back in

I was worried about my Y-pipe, now I'm not
