Muffler woes

I have a 99 se with 53k miles and my stock muffler is rusting through. there are a couple of huge rust spots that have eaten through layers of metal. i was at the dealership and a new stock muffler costs 250 and it isnt even stainless steel. i plan on redoing the whole exhaust. im probably going to get a budget y and b(with res). i noticed that budget also sells mufflers. does anyone know anything about budgets mufflers. i though id ask the org before i called budget.

thanx,
david

its been my limited experience that a muffler is a muffler, all your gonna get is different sounds, performance wise there negligable (2 or 3 hp lost with stock muffler).

i just got the magnaflow 14829 and my y pipe from budget. I dont really see much benifit in the B pipe or cat, so i think i am done with my exhaust. the sound is perfect and all the new parts are SS mandrel bent etc.
