Hi,
I am short on cash and was wondering if I can use 205/60/16 size instead of 215/55/16 stock size. The tire size calculator indicates that this size is very close to the stock size (it's off by +.9mph at 60mph). I am just interested of any possible problems with looks and performance.
Please help. Any suggestions on other cheaper sizes and places of purchase (other than discounties, whalen, and tirerack) is welcome.
Thanks

215/55-16 is the best bet. But if you're on an extreme budget (and wanna maximize fuel efficiency) there shouldn't be a problem running 205/60-16. If you want, I'll trade you my stock 15" rims with 205/65-15 for your rims and used tires.

Thanks ThurzNite.
The reasons I am asking about this weird size is that I am looking for replacing the factory tires with Dunlop SPort A2. TireRack has these for:
$85 205/55HR16
$73 205/60HR16
$88 215/55/HR16
So if the 205/60/16 size looks fine and there's no problem with performance, then I can save $15+ per tire.
Another interesting story I ran across when asking NTB about this size. The guy said that they would match TireRack price + $8 . However, they will only put on the factory recommended tire size and no other size. He also quoted some ridiculous amount for mounting/valve stems/balancing/disposal fees. Anyone else ran into this problem?

i am running 205/50/16 on Stock 240sx wheels right now. I had 235/45/17's...have to take it a little slower around corners.
I am just using these right now for the time being while my new wheels wait to go on.
