Plastic Cover on Gauge Cluster...Where can I get a new one?
Plastic Cover on Gauge Cluster...Where can I get a new one?
I used amor-all cleaning wipes on my dash and on the gauge cluster cover. After I cleaned it, it left a cloudy substance on the plastic. To sum it all up, the plastic cover is all f-ed up. I tried to clean it with other products, but nothing works. I know its a shot in the dark, but does anyone have one laying around? If not, I guess I'll go through the dealer. Thanks
First, try the for sale forum. Second, there is a guy on here looking to buy an OEM SE gauge cluster to replace his GLE cluster. He will obviously not need another cover. He may sell it to you cheap to help underwrite the costs of his new gauge cluster. It is worth a shot.

Third: Read the bottle of Armor All which clearly states not to use it on any clear plastic surfaces or else it will cloud it up.

I bought one a little while ago...
from the dealer...it was less than $50 CDN (about $30 US) and it
looks great!
I posted on this some months ago...the install
is pretty easy, and the results are well worth it ==> no more swirls!

The plastic cover on my cluster was REALLY clouded up, and I cleaned it up with Meguiar's Clear Plastic Cleaner and then I used Meguiar's Clear Plastic Detailer. It cleared it right up. I bet it'll do the same for you. I think the previous owner of my car must have used armorall on there too. The plastic cleaner also works on your clock and radio.
I did it when i took my dash apart though, it was much easier to clean the cover and really scrub it with the cleaner.
