Getting car painted: WHAT COLOR ? thoughts wanted

Well its black now, originaly i was just gonna repaint it black when i got stillen kit and shaved handles and truck. But i was looking through a mag and saw an orange car...now i think that would look hot with carbon fiber hood. I got black leather insid and tinted windows so. But any hoot hat color would you guys go if you paint your car.

Stay black

Orange

or something else thanks

Well my car is also black, and when I eventially repaint me car I am going with the Lexus grey, the really dark grey or a dark blue.

The reason I am choosing a dark color is because I don't want to have to repaint the engine compartment (expensive). If I repaint it a dark color it should blend well, I just don't like it when you see a black car and then look under the hood and it is red. Just my opinion though.

I agree with black97se... you should stay with a darker color so the engine bay looks good with it (unless you're planning on repainting that too). The orange would look cool, but I don't really think that color suits a Max... just my opinion though.

If I were going to repaint MY car, I would repaint it that dark blue color that came on Maximas. I almost wish mine was that color instead of black.

I also think you should repaint the car in a darker color since your car is black. Repainting the whole car(exterior and interior)is really, really expensive. A friend of mine just recently had his Accord repainted. He chose candy apple red and he wanted to repaint the whole car(interior and exterior)because his was a show car. His car was originally white, so I forgot the exact amount that he paid to have the car to repainted to candy apple red, but it was insane! Let just say I could get a 5spd conversion and a turbo with the amount of money he spent on the paint job alone! Better yet I could use that money for a down payment on a new car!

I think your max' color is perfect. I'm getting my old celica painted as we speak... really nice color, called Gunmetal gray. It's a dark gray w/ lots of pearl mixed into it. I'll take pics and post when i get it tonite.

BLUE

def. go with blue, all blue maxima's look sick all though orange would be diferent esp. with a carbon fiber hood but i dont think orange is a very fiting color for the max...orange is like a rice color or sumthin, more fiting on a civic, celica, prelude or integra...not really for a max...just my 2 cents

here are some ideas

Hmmm. Some good original colors for the Max would be:

- silver
- dark gray
- cl type-s gold
- bronze
- carbon fiber

I have an idea! Now don't shoot me for saying "honda", but how about the midnight pearl color used on newer Preludes??? It's black with a blue pearl in it. I've thought about it for my maxima, but I got no $$$

i've really liked the Smurf blue color. kind of like a baby blue. i've seen one accord here and it looks really nice with white rims. but like people have said here, gun metal silver or just a silver would look good.

Gold like the Top Secret Supra
Cooper like the Acura CLS or the Volvo.

keep it Black.. get a nice black. with the money you save on not changing the color, say about 500 bucks, put it toward some classy chrome rims.. nothing too bling bling though. with the paint and the rims it'll be like a brand new car.

Has anyone ever thought of going with a flat color? I saw a Sentra that looked like it had a teflon coating like the pans. That looked sweet, I have never seen it before. Maybe it was teflon so the radar guns would not work ?!?

I saw this paintjob on that tuner show on speed channel. It was a marble like paintjob. They put celophane over the wet paint and then do some special procedure along with clearcoat. It is new and original and looks amazing. Up close you can see the marble swirls, and from far away it was a nice bay side blue.

How do you get into your car?

I would assume you roll down your windows with your remote and open the front doors from the inside... is that correct?

I would also go with the graphite grey color that the IS300's come in. I'd love to paint my Max that color but funds are low. Orange is gross by the way!

automatic door poppers. you push a button either on the car (i've seen under the side mirrors) or remote and the door pops open.
