I just checked my oil on my Max because I'm heading out on a 2000 mile round trip to Canada. My oil isn't due for a change for another 1000 miles, but the oil still looks like honey. With other cars I've had, the oil is black in the first 500 miles after an oil change. My Maximum gas mileage has been 25.7 MPG, but I just replaced my fuel filter so I'll see if that improves it at all. On the highway I floor it occasionally to get around trucks and slow drivers so that probably kills off about 3 or 4 mpg I would get otherwise.

This is just a general "hell yeah!" for Maxima.

I had golden oil till about 150k miles, now i have 204,000 and it's more brown but still not black, and that coming from a person who changes oil every 8000 miles.
