You can't go wrong with OE nissan filters, but the Napa Gold filter
line are top notch filters although fairly high in price.I work the counter for a Napa jobber and use the gold line exclusively, Silver line not recommended. Hud

Get OEM! They are by far the best.

He's talking about air and feul filters, and I think you are talking about oil filters. By the way, Napa gold oil filters are re-labelled WIX filters. Bet ya didn't know that, huh? I use the WIX filters which are rated very well.

Lloyds96Max, The differences will be more in terms of quality than quantity, if there are differences at all. The Bosch and FRAM etc won't give you huge differences over OEM in terms of power, but we know that OEM oil and feul filters are tried and tested in terms of quality and durability. You can't go wrong with OEM on this one. I use the WIX oil filter b/c I the oil filter study website showed them to be very good, and I have a cheap source nearby. Otherwise, I would have used Nissan OEM.

If you want to see the inside of a Nissan oil filter, visit www.motorvate.ca and click on "Engine", and then "Inside a Nissan Oil Filter"

I think you will like what you see.....

Take Care,

Do a search on this. I believe that someone published a study on the oil filters. Mobil 1 filters and Purolator PURE ONE filters came out VERY HIGHLY rated. Some of the better know brands came out at the bottom. I used to use FRAM oil filters but after reading this study switched to the PURE ONE. PURE ONE filters seemed to be the best but some people think there might be a problem in that they filter too much or are so densly packed that it might restrict oil flow. I'm using them with MOBIL 1 Synthetic 5-30 and no problems. However with the change of "blending" on the Mobil 1 I may be changing to AMSOIL synthetic. Bought some AMSOIL syn tranny fluid from a member of the ORG who is a distributor and was absolutely amazed at the timely delivery, and it was actually cheaper than the Red Line syn tran fluid I was using. No regrets. Yes, you probably can't go wrong with the Nissan OEM filter either. I'm sticking with the Pure One. Again, do a search and you'll find the study.
Cheers

Does anybody know if the pricier Fram filters are any better? Before I knew any better I put on a Fram filter at my last oil change. I think it was a Fram Tough Guard or something like that. I suspect these aren't as good as OEM either?
