I have raced a 2000 v6 accord, but I have a 5sp. I figured that I would reply to give you a reference. Off the line the accord was really slow and I got a really big jump on him (about a car length). It stayed like that until I hit the first part of third gear and he started to creep up a little because I think his vtec kicked in but once I got good into third the race was over and I started pulling further away.

I don't know if this helps but you can be confident that your torque of the line will get you ahead, now how long you will stay there is another question. It will most likely depend on how long of a distance you will be racing...take that into consideration when you pick a spot to race. Light to light you should kill him!!

you will more than likely tear it up. Shift thru your gears and im sure you will have no problem. I would bet money if somebody came up to me and said there stock accord could take my maxima. Anyday.
GO FOR IT
Ive beaten cars that say they beat v6 accords easily

I've beat one

I raced a 2000 Accord V6 Coupe the other day going down GA 400 with my Auto. We were sitting in traffic and we were in the front. Then traffic cleared up and he waved to me, triggering a race. My GXE Max is basically stock but w/ a CAI, FSTB, and rims. We both floored it, I got ahead early but he slowly started to creep up behind me. But once I got into 3rd gear and got the RPMs up, I took off. Hit about 95 and then slowed down.....flashed my hazards telling him thanks for the race. His Accord was ALL stock, no VTEC....just an auto. Cool race.....my first real victory.

I want to know too!!

I have a 95SE and I always want to race with the Accord V6 I know I should take them no problem but on the safe side..If you can get some mod like intake which is cheap and fast to install to help out the high end power against his vtec..

Re: I've beat one

All the new V6 Accords have VTEC. But its SOHC VTEC. Its only one cam per bank. You sure you didn't race a 4Cylinder? The 4 Cylinders may come with vtec too.. Not sure about that..

I raced a stock V6 Accord (2000) and beat it. Right from the line I had the race and he appeared to hit his accelerator before I did because his car jumped before the light even turned green. Go for it. Keep your overdrive on until you feel it kick into third gear. Turn it off, and let it ride. You'll kill 'em.
