Struts and springs....

95 maxima se, I need a set of springs and struts, BUT i don't want a rough bouncy ride. I also want to have the drop to close the gap. So any advice would be great. I still want the luxury ride with the sportsy look thanks

H&Rs and B&Gs are the closest to stock ride. I have H&Rs with AGXs and the front gap is 1 3/4" between the top of the tire and the fender. I have a 95 GLE (slightly heavier auto trans) with 235/45-17 Bridgestone Potenza RE950s on Borbet Type Es. The ride is more on the sporty side, not quite luxury, but it still rides great. Exactly what I was looking for...

This topic has been discussed more than just about any other so do a search and you will find more info than you can take...

OT but the server has serious issues. Again. I donated to hopefully help fix it but who knows...

You want two different things here.

1)To maintain ride quality.
2)To close the gap.

You cannot accomplish both.

For a smooth ride, increased handling and good looks get yourself a set of H&R springs and couple them with Tokico struts and shocks.

For a more sporty ride, use the KYB AGX struts and shocks.
Eibach's are also an excellent spring, slightly firmer then H&R.
Maxspeed springs seem to be well liked as well. They are similar to H&R.

The Maxima doesn't have much suspension travel, if you drop it close to 2 inches, you really have nothing left to absorb bumps. Things will start to get a bit rough down there.

Good deal on KYB AGX's

$346 shipped anywhere in the lower 48

This guy is from the east coast, there's another guy that does the same 'dutch' auction on the west coast. Both have had good feedback on these struts.

Good Luck!

I would highly recommend the Tokico Illuminas... not from personal experience, but from reading up about it and their application on other cars they seem to be the best out there. These are 5-way adjustables and will be my choice when the time comes for me to buy new struts/shocks.
