JWT ECU installed
#1
Just put it in today. Really a great mod, my car pulls a lot better up until about 5k RPM's. I am looking forward to getting my MEVI next week so I can take advantage of the higher rev limiter. Who knows, with the new manifold I may be a contender for the fastest N/A I30.

do they program the ECU differently for use with the VI or do they leave it the same? Meaning, once the VI is activated it crams more air into the cylinder, does the stock ECU compensate and add more gas, will the JWT? I just installed my VI about a month ago and am getting it dyno'd in 3 weeks - I want to see if it's running lean after 5k. Did you buy it new?

I thought the stock ECU had a fixed set of parameters for wide open throttle.

Sorry i took so long to reply, but yes i checked the ECU and there were no codes thrown out (I was a little afriad since I was using a 96' Maxima ECU on my I30). This modification definitely has some nice gains on its own, but it seems like it was made to work with the Variable Intake manifold. Also it is kind of nice to know that I have the chance to have a ECU controlled nitrous kit if I want (although the possiblity for an NX kit is now out of the question).

this should not be a problem since in effect your are not adding more air or "boosting" but rather simulating shorter intake runners.
