Jack stands

what do you guys use to jack your car up. i have jack stands, but i cant really get my car up enought to but much clearance under it. also where should i put the jack stands. there is a metal ridge that goes along the edge of the car that you are supposed to put the car jack on to lift the car. i used that to lift the car and then put the jack stand on this ridge because i wasnt sure where else to put it. this seems like a bad place to put the jacks stand since there is very little surface area. i noticed that these metal ridges were begining to bend from the wieght of my car lowered the car back down. installing this Pacesetter STS is getting really frustrating.

Rule #1 for jacking up a car: don't use those ridges at all.

In the front you will see a bell shaped metal object about a foot in right behind the wheel on both sides you can jack the car up there.

In the rear there are metal "tabs" that you can use as a jacking point in front of the rear wheels about 8" in.

Jackstands I usually place parralel with those ridges on the inside of them.

Yep, I usually put the jack stands parallel to the ridge, just inside.

Also, if you're working on something underneath (Exhaust, RSB, etc) and don't need to take the wheels off, using ramps are better. You can get the car up higher and it's safer.

I place the jackstands right under the a-arms of the car. It holds the car nice and high. But i always give the car a test push before i get under the car to make sure the car is stable on the jackstands. Because have a 3000+ pound car falling on you is really scary. and dangerous.

Your auto parts should sell some ramps.

I bought ramps today and put it up. there is barely enought room for me to get my body under there...oh well. i was going to install my pacesetter sts. i tried putting pbp catalyst on the bolts on the cat, but still cant get them off, so im going to wait to do this install until after i have by cat back put on and i have the muffler shop undo the bolts and put new ones on that i can later remove with ease. between the cat and the b pipe, there is a little pipe with a sensor in it. will my budget b pipe that is coming in the mail connect after this little pipe, or will it replace it and connect directly to the cat and replace the sensor pipe? if it doesnt replace that pipe ill be ****ed because that pipe is small in diameter and i dont know of where you can buy a more free flowing one.
