Buying used Maxima

Hello,

I'm a new person on this forum. The reason I got here are my plans to buy a Maxima this summer. It will be 4th gen for sure. Because of that I have several questions.
1. Are there any weak points?
2. What might need to be replaced in '98-'99 models (because of milage and age)?
3. Were there any recals for those Maxima's?
4. Is Maxima an expensive car to maintain?
5. What are the technical differences between GXE, GLE and SE versions?

No notorious weak points. Diff between models can be found on FAQ on home page of the forum section of the site. WIll give you more info on other things that be of interest to you.

In response to your ?'s...

1) No major weak points
2) Depends on how the car was maintained
3) Only 1 recall, it involves replacing the Alternator on the '97 & '98 models
4) No
