How do you know it doesnt work? Have you run out of gas yet?
Mine doesnt come on until the needle is dead center of the last mark.

never ever have I seen my low fuel light come on. I guess maxima's are a little less sensitive than the other cars ive had because my accord's light came on BEFORE i ever hit the e. Just fill up at a 1/8 tank or a 1/4 if yer really scared you might starve your engine.

my low fuel light at times would turn on then offat times b/w 1/4 and "E" but even when I reached "E" a few times it would never be a steady on. It would stay on for a few seconds then turn off, then for a short period do the same thing over until I re-fueled. I've noticed in VW's thier low fuel lights turn on just below 1/4 and are a steady on. I'm surprised our Max's low fuel lights aren't a steady on like other cars when we approach the "E" levels.

I learned my lesson after the first time i ran out of gas , my fuel light never came on, so now i just fill my tank up everytime, as soon as it hits half a tank is like its on E to me , i run to the gas station asap, i try not to make it go under half a tank or i will be paranoid that i will run out of gas soon,

i dont know how good it might be for the car , but it puts me at ease not worrying about running out of gas and will probally put a smile on the burgorlors face when he has enough gas to last from New York to Mexico without worrying about pulling over could strip my car fast without being bothered for gas stops
