painting stock 95 grille???

I read in a previous post that painting the stock grille silver on a 95 will look good.

What kind of paint should I use? brands??

Any clear coat? brands also??

Anyone have any pics of this done to their 95/96? Cardomain is down so just put the pics here if you can. Thanks.

Just do it and post pics when your done. Do it the color of your car or silver.

Just use a good exterior paint. Rustoleum or something like that.
The grill is just plastic, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Few coats of color, and then a few coats of clear for protection.

Yep

I second that. I painted my grille about 3 months ago with 2 coats of silver paint. Its yet to fade/come off etc. It looks amazing as well. I forget what exact paint i used. It actually may have been Rustoleum hah. Anyways, get silver and paint away. You'll be suprised how great it looks. No nonsense of the home depot fitting or rusting. It gives the car a mean look from the front. Ill actually take pics this weekend and post them later.

did you guys remove your grille's before you painted them? Or did you just put paper or something around the grille so you didnt get any spray paint on the car?

I have a dark grey max and painted my grill silver (I used rustoleum paint too) just put 2 coats on but no clear coat and its still holding up fine since may. Plus it looks great, I like it better than the aftermarket grills personally, but tahs just my prefernce.

i just used duplicolor paint that i got at the parts store. i took the grille off of the car, masked off the area that i didn't want to paint (in this case, the area that was body color) and sprayed 4-5 coats and let it dry overnight then cleared it the next day. look at my home page whenever cardomain is back up.
