Friggin Drivers Seat is squeaking

It's a little chirp that's coming from the back of the seatback. I think it's kind of on the right side. I'm hoping it's the hinge but I guess I'll have to take the seat out of the car to lube it up.

Anybody fix a squeaky seat before? What was the cause and how'd ya fix it.

Hope everybody is having a nice weekend.

i haven't had one before, but, why not have someone sit in the front seat and you get behind it and try and pin point where it's squeeking and then take the appropriate measures

Yeah, my drivers side seat squeaks if I push my back against it about the same place your talking about. I've just gotten used to it.

My seat squeaks TOO
But I don't know where the sound is coming from... I don't really think it's a hinge... maybe from the track. It happens all the time - when I go over bumps, when I turn, etc. I'm gonna have to get in there with some oil or something.

I've taken out a couple seats in my day(mind you none from a max)and have found that most reason they squeak is from loose screws or bolts I know my max has adjustable lumbar(option or standard)I've known those to squeak on occasion, if all driver seats are power like in mine I would suspect a loose motor tighten with some lock tight and it'll be fine, as for manual seats loose bolt seat-track or track-floor will often cause squeaks. vibration is what loosens these scews so if you have a shakin stereo use lock tight when you find loose screws or bolts

I also have this porblem amongst many other little annoying creaks and squeaks. It seamed like my '97 Max SE felt and ran 100% better then my current '99 Max SE. I'm having more problems with little things with my current car then I have had with my '97.

I have the same problem with my drivers seat. I have gotten really lazy in trying to figure out what could be causing it. The way I fix most of my rattles squeaks is to turn the music louder.

Agreed. Instead of spending my wheels trying to fix rattle, I'm going to spend that money installing a thumpin system

Not yet. I'm still trying to troubleshoot/fix too many other things. I'll probably get to troubleshooting the creaking when it's warmer here in VA so I can get under the car and take a look for myself.

i have a squeeky driver's seat. it sounds to me like it is the metal frame with springs that the foam padding attatches to.. i'm going to take off the lumbar support off like the other guys did maybe it will fix the problem. it is starting to drive me a little annoyed, specially when i first get in the car in cold mornings and everything is nice brittle.
