Replaced alternator

Battery light and brake light came on at the same time, I bought an alternator from autozone ($199) replaced it myself in 2hrs in cold.
while replacing I discovered lower rad hose was leaking coolant, i think thats why it went bad. I have 110k miles, i thought it failed too soon?

Re: Replaced alternator

110k is pretty good. Mine died at 50k...

There was a recall on some of the model years, but I dont know exactly what years. Do a search on the forum and you should be able to find which years. If your car is qualified then you can take your Autozone bill to Nissan and get a refund from them.

Good luck.

I'll replace the lower radiator hose, it looks like its leaking coolant into alternator. Mine is not in recall.

it only took you two hours to do your alt, I did mine at 125k and it took me four I spent 1 hour trying to get it out without removing the radiator and and two and a half trying to get that ****ing bolt through(you know the one next to the block) maybe next time I'll get it quicker

What else has to be removed to remove the alternator? What other components, I mean?
