you lowered your car, right? so, can you help a brother out?

hello all:

OK -- while it's still snowy and cold out, I am prepping meself for
lowering my ride this spring. Currently, I have about 115K miles, and
I want to replace everything rubber (lots of salt on Toronto roads)
and basically return my suspension to about as-new as possible.

That all said, I've been trying to compile a list of parts I need,
but there are conflicting part numbers and the like. So -- I have a
favor to ask:

If you've lowered your car, can you PLEASE post what you changed, as
well as the part numbers? I would REALLY REALLY appreciate it.

So far, I have the following info:

FRONT
Dust Covers
OEM "spacers"
front strut spacer -- 54329-39U00 (6.61 each)
front strut bearing -- 54325-5V000 (13.73 ea)
front strut dust cover -- 54050-31U01 (10.69 ea)
polyurethane sleeve -- 54034-85E10 (6.00/ea - 6 needed)

REAR
OEM "spacers"
strut spacer -- 56218-61L10
dust cover (boot) -- 55240-01a00
rubber seat -- 55034-31U00
polyurethane sleeve -- 55031-33P10 (6.63/ea - 2 needed)
cover washer -- 55248-01U00

more: front sway bar end link bushings
helical split electrical wire wrap (1/2" inside diameter)

MUCHOS GRACIAS!!!

I recommend going to polyeurethane dust boots instead. Summit has them, and if you get AGX you can get the AGX ones...same thing. You can even get yours in pink through Summit.

btw, it's muchAs gracias.

Replace all the isolation sleves, 4 in the front (2 each spring) and 2 in the rear (only 1 each spring)

Replace the strut bearings

Replace the dust covers

The spring spacers might be in good shape still, but your not going to know until you take it apart. If anything, get 2 new ones for the front, the rears should be just fine.

There's a red gasket that goes between the strut mounts and the body of the car. There really thin paper junk from Nissan. The rears usually come out egg shaped too. Go to an automotive parts store and pick up a sheet of intake manifold gasket paper. It's about 2mm think. Cut out new gaskets to go on top. Do this for both the front and rear. It makes your car ride quiet over cracks by providing better isolation between the suspension and the body.

Here's some pics of the fronts the I made.

sorry, yes, that url is right.

And I recommend checking out the Radio Shack black coil-wrap instead of OEM isolation sleeves.
