thinkin about sellin the max

I need a more performance based car. I love my maxima, but it costs too much to get it to go. Whats the best bang for your buck car at $8,000 performance wise? Thanks.

You are hard pressed to find an m3 that cheap. If you dont care whaaat people say and really want a car thats dirt cheap to get fast get a DSM or a mustang.

Sorry but unless you get an american muscle car like a stang, camaro or trans-am you're not going to get anyhing faster for $8,000. Thats why i got a max it was the best choice and is fast stock.

Isn't it a little early to make that call? and also, not everyones maxima is as troublesome as yours was. Add in that fstmax1 has $8,000 to spend, and it's a totally different sitch.

Is that $8,000 just base with plenty of $ room for mods? Depending on how mechanically inclined you are/what you have available for tools, work area, time, etc...your options are very open. There's a lot more variables that could effect this situation (ie, insurance...daily driver? How reliable do you want it to be? If you had a faster beast, would you be able to control it enough to not get tickets? on and on)....it's real vague to say "What's best performance-wise for $8,000?"

sorry, but not much to buy with $8000.

there are some choices such as a dsm but you're getting a totally different type of car. you could easily have a 12-low 13 second dsm for about $8000 with some minor mods.

however, the maxima is a great value for the money. the performance in everyday driving really isn't bad either.

For 8 Grand, a Z28 is going to be the best bang for the buck if you want good looks and lower milage. You could always buy some old sh!tbox foxbody mustang and make it fast. It depends if all your looking for is speed or not. Either way your dearly going to miss the ride quality and smoothness of the Max.

You would do a $3300 mod on a car that is only worth $4500? Good lord.
