I heard that the new 350zx has a nice-sounding factory exhaust/muffler, has anyone heard it yet? Wonder if it would fit on a Max, it would probably last a long time

yup I was in the city and I saw it at the light and when it took off I was surprised that it was a stock exhaust.

There's a dude that parks his new Z across from my patio, and sometimes I hear his car when I'm smokin... it sounds really nice: like mellow yet agressive, but not loud. I'm so jealous of that guy with his Z, it convinced me to reserve a G35 coupe.

Got a brand new Black 350Z in the body shop yesterday. Car still has the plastic wrap on it. Seems like good ol Nissan Cheap paint is still being used. Were refinishing the door panel due to scratches caused by the car carrier throwing up rocks from the tires. It amazing to see how easily this paint is sand blasted! I can't even imagain how the front end is going to look a year from now.

We took the door completely apart to refinish it and I got a chance to really check this car out.

Impressions:
The eitire interrior aside from the nice leather seats is cheap plastic. Even the storage box on the dash feels cheesy. Everything is plastic including the door handles. Give me a break. Ultra thin door panels, no sound isolation at all in the doors, just a thin sheet of plastic. Even the interrior panel itself is cheesy. I can't believe what people are paying for this car when the G35 is basically the same car performance wise. The G35 coupe appears to be the same chassis as the Z with an interrior thats much more defined. WTF?

I think the only thing Nissan has with this car is the loyal Z following. There's no way in the world I'd ever buy this car. It's a joke inside.

Not only that, the ride It's hard as a rock on the road. How can you possibly enjoy driving it around?

I dont see the big hipe about this car. Sorry guys, this car definately gets a all your getting is an engine and chassis, everything else feels like a joke.

Oh the exhaust does sound nice.

Since we're talking about the new Z:

I was at the Nissan dealer the other day. A guy was looking at a 350Z and asked the salesman for a test drive. The guy was older and obviously affluent (drove up in a Mercedes) but the salesman turned him down, said they don't allow any test drives of the 350Z. The customer (a bit ****ed) asked how they're going to sell any without a test drive. The salesman said they have not had any problems selling them, and there have been no customer complaints after the sale.

Would you buy a car without a test drive? Not sure I would.

the exhaust on the z's sound simply amazing.

i heard one a few months ago on the west side highway in new york. slowed next to him and opened the window. the sound was sweet.

I bought the Z without a test drive, but then again I ordered in Febuary 2001 and the car wasn't out yet. I can't bleieve now the car is out that the dealer wouldn't let him test drive it. It is a very nice car but it isn't a Ferrari. They are going to be producing around 30,000 Z's a year so it won't be a rare car. Pretty soon you will be seeing them in dealers lots for sale under MSRP.
