I just bought a 99 se 5-speed and have noticed a light knocking and slight loss of power when the pedal is near or to the floor, mainly at lower rpm's (3000-4000) I am running premium reformulated fuel and have not seen the engine light come on. The car runs great otherwise.

Reading the owners manual, it says "now and then you may notice light spark knock for a short time while accelerating. This is no cause for concern because you get the best fuel benefit when there is light spark knock for a short time under heavy engine load".

I have also owned a '94 se 5-speed and do not remember this happening. Is anyone else experiencing something similar? If this is "normal", it kinda sucks! Thanks.
