Headlight difference:95-96 vs. 96-99 ??

Does anyone know if there is any difference with the 4th gen and 5th gen headlight assemblies? I have a 96'max and would opt to go with the 97'headlights. I would like to do a switch if the bolt patterns are the same. Anyone know or had experience in switching? Thanks in advance for those who give input.

5th gen headlights are a completely different shape than the 4th gen...a 97 is also a 4th gen. so, what are you talkin about?

The difference is that the 95-96 are glass and the 97-99 are plastic and weight less. Also the 97-99 look brighter because of the way the reflection is done.

No I had all of them, but when I crashed the car, and got a new hood and fender(which is pictured)the clear turn signal was the only one broken on that side. So I drove with that one orange light for like 2 weeks till I got another clear light.

Im sure you could fit a 5th gen headlight in a 4th gen, but it would take alot of money and modification. I dont think it would be worth it. It would be much easier to fit 97-99's in because they just bolt in!

Cefiro's can fit too, and only require a bit of modification. I may do those instead.
