inspection problems, please help

Hey everyone, I'm a brand new member. I'm having problems passing inspection here in NY. I have a 98 auto with a place racing CAI, RT cat, and cattman y-pipe, b-pipe, and muffler. Brian Catts assures me that this setup should indeed pass, I was just wondering if anyone around has my setup and can pass emission inspection. Maybe my car just needs a tune up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is your Check Eng. Light on? are your O2 sensors good?

Take the car for a drive, get everything Nice and warm, and then have it tested.. i live in NY also, and with the damn cold weather we are having its hard to keep your stuff warm, but try to get it tested warm, it will better the chances of you passing, or so i hear.

Wait til next week if you can. It's supposed to be warmer. mid-30s.

Make sure the car is completely warmed up before you take it for an inspection. A good 1 hour highway drive should do. Then take it to a place that will do it right away.

I'm assuming you just failed the emissions part?

Where exactly do you live in NY? If you live in NYC area just go to any mechanic that came from another country and give him an extra $20 and you will be fine. But even with your mods you should be able to pass.

So did I. By this I mean that mechanics that came from another country will pass a car that can't for a few extra bucks.

Thanks for all your help guys. I'm failing the emissions part. The guy that failed me is a guy who used to pass my other cars for a few extra bucks. Now he says he can't do it because the new machines have cameras on them to make sure the car on the machine is the car being inspected. But you guys think it should pass with my setup? I figured it should since so many people upgrade the exhaust on their street cars. I had no idea a 3.0 nissan v6 could make so much pollution. Is it possible I need a tuneup, or does that have nothing to do with passing inspection? Or maybe is this guy doing the inspection wrong?

Did you fail all 3 parts of the emissions? If not what part did you fail?

When was your last tuneup? Maybe going through a few tankfuls of gas with Fuel System cleaner would help as well. You're filling up with premium for the inspection, right?

Make sure to warm that Cat up nice and hot.

I failed 2 of the 3...I think it was the o2 that I passed, I'm sorry, I kind of forgot. What are the names of the three, if I heard them I could tell you.
