Weird Starting Problem !!!
Alright only on the cold mornings when I start my car its been doing somthing unusual lately. When I start it up it goes to about 1500 rpms then quickly jumps down to 1200 then workes its way back up to 1500 very slowly (2 min) then stays there and goes through its normal warming up cycle>>It feels weird cause it feels like its going to cut out but it never does, only once...but after I drive it for the day and stuff, it never does it ever again...unless Its really cold out during work like 7 hours..I just had my new tranny put in so maybe its a lose conection with the battery terminals. ?? its just bothering me

I cleaned the TB<---pretty dirty, and I also cleaned the air filter...I made sure the connection to the engine from the negative battery terminal was nice and clean, and its still doing it...but its only when it sits like over night..Cold too
-Matt
What else could it be...Its only been doing it since I got the tranny put in..maybe a loose connnection somewhere
thanks for your trouble tom

Re: Weird Starting Problem !!!
Hey,
I got the same problem, however mine is a little more complex, since the car does stall and cut out quite often. Also, I do have my original transmission. You don't have to worry, because from what people are writing, it does seem to be a common problem to the Maxima. I am still in the process of research, but I have gotten many leads. However, since you put in a new transmission, try checking and/or replacing your crank sensor. Someone a couple of weeks ago had the same problem. This is what one person replying to that thread had suggested to that guy, so it may be a clue: (Sorry, if I don’t remember the title of that thread)
"You may want to check and replace your crank sensor, since it is more efficient to do rather than taking the transmission out and re-grounding the wires"
So maybe that is the factor, but I am just giving you some advice from what one person has give to another.
Some other possibilities may include:
Cleaning the injectors, Cleaning the IVAC valve, Replacing Spark plugs, and other general maintenance. However since you did not have the problem before try researching that crank sensor.
Also if you go to search on this page, and type in starting, you will get a lot of info.
