Refer to the maintenace schedule in your manual or here: https://maxima.org/shoptalk/sub_care...en_sched.shtml

-and sure, fix those problems you've been putting off. Start with the O2 sensor, reset ECU & check codes in a few days to see if you're still getting the knock sensor code.

I bought my car with 82,200 miles, and now it has about 83,300 miles. (98 SE, kinda high miles ). I was wondering if it is worth it to get the 90k service at the dealer. I have a ways off to get there, since I only go to school and sometimes out. I hit about 300-400 miles a month. Bottom line, is it worth it to get the 90k service.

#1 - Don't skip maintenance intervals. (I hope that's not what you're asking). It's definitely a bunch 'o $ you could put toward mods if you go to the dealer.

30/60/90k is a manageable DIY service if you have a decent tool set, some mechanical aptitude and a Hayne's manual or FSM.

If you post in your Regional Forum (NE, SE, NW, etc), you might even find an experienced member who's willing to give you a hand with the work either on the cheap, for beer, or pop, or just for the comeraderie.

DIY. Save $ for mods!
