OBX Cat-back exhaust system- PICS!!

Check it out

2.5" mandrel bent polished stainless steel (entire system polished)
Looks identical to Greddy SP except the tip is .5" smaller
The sound is great, even with my Y-pipe. Nice and deep but very quiet. Very slight, slight drone at highway speeds.
Great system at a great price (retails for $599, got it for $250)

There is currently a group deal for these...

Niiiice...

There's an OBX dealer on eBay who is selling them very cheap right now. I am sure the price will go up soon as demand increases.

Here's a couple more pics from before I had it installed. It's just the rear section. The mid-section is polished as well, with 2 resonators.

is it a direct bolt-on for 97-99's? Like, is there a hole for the O2 sensor already? The exhaust looks good, and the price is great as well.

Also, any idea how it compares in sound to the Apexi WS?

This is a direct bolt on for 97-98's. They also make a 95-96 bolt on as well as a 99-01 I believe, but I'm not positive.

The B-pipe bolts directly onto the cat and has a hole for the O2 sensor. Most cat-backs stop before the O2 sensor, leaving that small section of piping with the O2 sensor attached to the cat. Not sure if you know what I am talking about.

redmaxpa007, I think we all have the sensor there, but some cat-backs stop before that part

Man, what an awesome deal! If i didn't have the Greddy, I'd be all over this OBX. You can even argue it is superior to Greddy in that it is all Stainless and not aluminized steel pipe. Definitely better than Apexi (2.25" pipe). Quite possibly the new standard in Cat-backs for the the 4th gen...

so besides the name Greddy, what are you paying more $$ for... is it the (internal) design of the muffler itself?

Then again it 'retails' for the about the same...

ok so the next question is, how the hell did u get it for $250. I looked on ebay and couldnt find any auctions for maxima OBX cat back.

As you said, the price now might be more than $250, but it still might be a good deal. Do you have the email of the guy or something?

Freddie- I told you you'd love the sound! The smell will go away in a day. It's just the oils and coatings burning off inside.

hey, that is a very nice exhaust indeed! do you get any interference when you hit large bumps??? is the muffler a straight through design?i might actually think about upgrading if the price remains good.

Interference? Not sure what you mean so I'll say no.
Yes, the muffler is straight through.

Here's a link to the eBay auction that opened my eyes to this system. I e-mailed the seller and then purchased the system from him, not through auction. I paid via PayPal...

we had a group deal by Blkmax95c last week which is closed now. Maybe someone can start another one or something, the seller said that he is willing maintain it at that price til Feb 15. Is like $268 for 10 and $258 for 20 shipped, here is the link of our GD last week:

This catback looks pretty good for the price... Good luck everyone that's in on the GD... If i wasn't so attached to the perfection of the Apexi WS on theblue's car, i'd probably have to count this as a second choice... The only rant i have about this kit is that i think the tip looks smaller than 4.5" no? Doesn't the apexi WS also have a 4.5" tip, but then why does it fit the semi cirle on the back of the Max fully, while with this one, it still leaves a small gap?

The OBX has a 4 inch tip not a 4.5,,big enough for most but not as big as the 4.5 tip that looks like you cold fit a grape fruit in it.A 4 inch tip looks good on the max,it big but not to big that it looks weird or like a cannon

Now that's what i'm talking about, that really fills the cutout in the bumper nicely... The OBX seems too small, but to each their own... Nice 'cannon' you got there

I don't know $270 shipped for the OBX 4in tip vs. $500+ for the Greedy SP 4.5 in tip. Its kind of a no brainer to me. If I really feel the need of a 4.5 in tip, I can go to a local shop and have them weld one on to my OBX which would still less than a Greedy

that tip size is perfect in my eyes.

greddy is just a tiny bit too big

damn, this is an excellent deal. i am just deciding to slow down on the modding a little bit.. i will stretch my spending out over a longer period of time, that way i'll feel like i am spending less $

i still don't understand why it's so cheap!

and..

is the apexi ws sport really 2.25"?

would the power gains of an apexi be less than one of these, or the greddy?

The apexi WS is 2.25". Although the muffler inlet and outlet is 2.5". Maybe that is the reason the apexi is considerd quiter than most other cat-backs.
