rewire 97+ clearance to be like 95/96...?

I searched and searched, but couldn't find any info on this:

My 95 Maxima is totaled, so I'm looking at 97-99s to replace it. I REALLY liked the clearance lights on my 95, and would like to have this function on my new car. Is there a writeup somewhere explaining how to do this?

I DO NOT SIMPLY WANT TO MAKE THE CLEARANCE LAMPS BRIGHTER. I WOULD LIKE THEM TO TURN ON ONLY WHEN THE TURN SIGNAL IS ON, AS THEY DID ON MY STOCK 95.

Info is much appreciated. I can't figure out why Nissan got rid of this useful and safe feature!

Thanks,

Doug

i dont think i have seen anyone do it for the 97-99. And i dont think its prewired cause only one wire goes to the clearance light. The only way would be to use two relays, run a second wire to each light and find the proper connection to turn on the relays(left and right). take a look if you can find the relays for the turn signals, just make sure you tap before the relay on the light will blink.

Dammit... that's what I figured. I was sure I had seen people talking about it but I never paid much attention since it didn't affect me.

metallic97gxe!!! I said very clearly that that wasn't what I am looking for!
