Cooalnt leak
Cooalnt leak
I have searched and I am confused
. I have a coolant leak and I thought it was the water pump. I read that if the water pump is leaking you'll have water in the oil. Well I don't have any water in my oil. I tightened all my hose clamps and thermostat housing. The leak is coming from behind the A/c compressor below the alternator. I have taken my reservoir ut and checked it. I have taken my radiator cap off and crank the car, that test was fine also. I even took it to the dealer and paid $80 and they couldn't find the leak. Seems that after I have driven the car the leak vanishes. My car has never overheated the coolant level doesn't seem to change, well no that much. Can anyone help me I don't wanna pay for a new water pump and still have this problem.

If you live in a cold climate its ok to get a small leak over night because in the cold the rubber hoses expand and dont seal all that good on the engine or radiator, after you drive it around during the day the rubber contracts onto the conections and is fine..Nissan probably checked the car after they had it warmed up. Make sure the level doesnt go anywhere cause engine damage can occur

It sounds like your water pump is going. The seals go slowly though so it might be awhile. I'd replace it just to be sure... How many miles?

I had a similar problem with my 95 max. I had ripped the engine apart and found that the leak was coming from the timing chain cover. After researching it i found that the only thing behind the timing cover is the water pump. I took mine to a radiator shop to get it fixed because the space to do it was way to small for me. It cost me about $300. Now it doesnt leak.

I thought maximas were leak-proof...made in Japan...reliable as ever...top of line Japanese sport sedan...
We've got to complain to Nissan in group action.
Who wanna call Gary Martin & Associates for group settlement VS Nissan for making our car so susceptable to breakdowns?
