'99 Center Arm Rest

Has anyone come up with a aftermarket piece or modification for the center arm rest (if you can all it an arm rest) on a '99. It is really non-functional.

What's different about the '99 console?

My center arm rest is functional. I can rest my arm there while I drive, it holds some of my CD's, glasses, I think a condom is in there too.

Maybe if you had a 'gimp'-arm it wouldn't be a very good arm rest. I dunno...it works fine for my arm and it holds alot of stuff at the same time. Dual-purpose...ahhhh.

Here... try this....put a CD changer inside. I did with mine, I have a Sony 10 DVD changer installed cause i hate having to stop and go to the trunk to change CD, CD-R, DVD, video CD.

Maybe it's the way I sit I was referring to the padded lid. It seems to low for an arm rest. I'll try changing my seating position.

Are you particularly tall? I am only 5'5" so that might be why it works for me...

what's are those three buttons for? I assume two are for the heated seats, but how about the other?

Who knows what the buttons are for. They have all sorts of cool toys we never got. I have three coinholders in those spots.

As for taller people being disadvantaged by the armrest, I would think it's the opposite. The shorter you are, the more you need to move your seat up and therefore, the less armrest 'resting surface' you get.

My complaint is that it (and the door armrest) aren't padded enough.

I concur. The DS paneling is much thinner than the center arm rest.

I wonder if the Samsung arm rest would be a direct swap into our cars. It (kinda) reminds me of the arm rests on the I35.

Chances are those will only fit 95-96 Maxima (or 96-97 I30).
I have imported some Cefiro Sliding armrest that has dual console as well as it slides forward (instead of upwards like the 5th Gen Maxima or 2000+ I30/I35's). It does help a lot on resting your arm.
