Ok, I've had the budget Y pipe on for about a week now, and I noticed something today that I havent before. There is a whistling kind of sound coming from underneath the car under hard accel., I dont know if this is because of the Y pipe and how its supposed to sound, or if I have a leak and need to tighten up some things. Anybody else have this problem, or is this a normal sound?

 

Try double checking, it might be coming from your hybrid intake. Or it could be an exhaust leak.....

 

try this, when yor car is cold, start it and run your hands over the connections where the y-pipe is bolted to. if it is leaking, then you will be able to feel warm air coming out. the y-pipe does make the exhaust sound a little more "airy" though.

 

I know its not the intake, I've had that on for a long time and know what it sounds like. But with the exhaust, I've never been in another max w/ a y pipe, but its almost like I can hear the exhaust rushing through the pipe. BTW, it only makes this sound at wot. It might be normal.
