when i installed reverse indiglos, I made the needles black and am now regretting it and wishing they were red. I know i could paint over them red, but if i put red/amber bulbs in the gauge cluster, would it show red under the black?

 

As long as you didn't paint the sides of the needles black also, some red light should come out the sides.

You could always take the black color off with paint thinner or nail polish remover and some Q-tips.

Then use a red Sharpie marker to color the top of the needles.

PS: I eventually made mine a light blue color after I installed blue led bulbs. Looks nice at night.
