Question on pl cai?

My maxima was stalling every time i came to a stop.My rpm went low and it seem like it wanted to shut off.I took it in for service the mechanic said it was a bad injecter he also said there was rust on the inside that it came from my cold air intake letting water inside to cause rust could this be true?has anyone had this prob?Could it be the filter thats foam and letting alot of stuff in or should i make it the short intake just the upper pipe and filter?I had for 1 and 1/2 years and i like the cai its great and its covered by a foglight.Any help would be appreciated thanks in advance

the car is driving good now its just that i dont know if its true the cai is letting water in when raining? If so then i should remove my cai to prevent any damage to the engine or injecters.Could it be the filter been foam and not k&n?I heard foam lets alot of stuff in compared to k&n
