Needle Lights

HAs any ever changed the lights behind the needles, if so is it hard?

Yes, usually when installing new guages. No its not hard they are just wedge bulbs.

Changing the bulbs in the gauge cluster is fairly easy. 95 to 97 models used #194 bulbs. #194 bulbs are easy to find and come in all kinds of colors.

However, since you have a 99, you don't have many choices. Nissan changed the size to something smaller in 98 and it seems no one makes aftermarket bulbs in that size. The only place to get replacements is at Nissan and they only have clear bulbs. #74 bulbs will fit in there too, even though they're a little smaller than stock. But there's still the same problem. No one makes #74 bulbs in anything but clear.

Your only other option is the Intelliglow needle rings. Expensive and fairly likely to screw up your needles while trying to install them.

Guess it's the tradeoff for having the newer car.

I think you mean the needles alone. Not the whole instrument cluster, correct?
